Hi, I have started to have a problem with my video replay. the picture pauses and the sound stutters. It is the same on live download as with old video's that have all played Ok before , they play Ok on the laptop,
It has been doing this for about a month,
Originally down load was stop , start on big files , but I upped my internet connection speed and had a new Video card fitted, Ge Force 6200 DDR2 512MB ( 64 Bit) DVI & TV Inno 3D Ge Force 6200AGP 35-504-101100033
as I only had the one on the motherboard, earlier this year and all was fine , ripped along.
I spoke to the PC Shop about the card and they said it would only work or not ??.
    Any suggestions please .
    Cheers Des.

Hi Des. I would download and install the latest video driver from NVIDIA here, NVIDIA Geforce 6200 driver.

Then install the latest version of Adobe Flash Player from here, Flash Player 11.5.502.110.

Reboot the computer and then let me know if you still experience the video stuttering.

Hi Evan , I down loaded the driver but when it tries to install , I get a " cannot find compatible graphics hardware,
Would it be that my card say's 64 bit in info and this download is for 32bit.
I tried a couple of times and no luck,
I have the latest Flash player .
    regards Des.

Hi Des, if you go to NVIDIA site following Evan's link, click on the find my Graphic Drivers Automatically.
That way you will ensure it selects 64bit for your XP Pro OS. Neil.

Does the computer still have the NVIDIA software installed on the machine or did you remove it before installing the AMD driver?

Uninstall all AMD and NVIDIA software if present and install the AMD driver again.

Also click Start< Run and type dxdiag and click Ok. When the DirectX Diagnostic Tool opens click on the Display tab and show me what is displayed on that tab in a screenshot.

In the DirectX log it shows the video driver as being from 2009 which is quite old.

I want to get confirmation that you are using the updated AMD video driver. We will check for this by looking at the date on the video driver in Device Manager.

Click Start< Right click My Computer and click Properties. The System Properties window will open. Click on the Hardware Tab and then click on Device Manager. Once Device Manager opens expand the Display adapters category, right click on the ATI Radeon HD 3450 entry and click on Properties. Once the Properties window opens for the ATI Radeon 3450, click on the Driver tab.

Where it says driver date let me know what date it says for the driver.

You need to completely remove all AMD software from your system and in Device Mananger right click on the ATI Radeon HD 3450 Display Adapter and click on Uninstall.

If there are still remnants of the ATI Display Driver left over, then download and run Driver Sweeper.

After all ATI driver files have been removed, reboot the computer and then install the driver from the link in post #6.

Hi, Have done that and now it does not show the radeon hd display adaptor any more , in the Device Manager, only have a VGA, with a yellow sign. I did a search and there are lots of entries with the letters amd, but nothing about the adaptor,
How do I get the adaptor back, Please. ?/
    cheers Des.

I assume you uninstalled all AMD software? The updated AMD Catalyst Suite should install the latest video driver.

When you run the installer choose the Custom Option and make sure all the checkboxes are selected before installing the driver. Does the installation succeed?

Hi, I did a system restore , and have it all back again and I will start a fresh tomorrow, and follow all your instructions.
I will check the custom install next time , also it say's it is not digitally signed , would that make any difference?
I dont have the radeon disc, I only have the G Force one which they replaced.
Yes the instillation completely installs, I have tried many times.
In Add & remove programs there is a ATI Program, do I have to remove that as well or only the AMD ones "D "

    No it won't.

You need to uninstall all AMD/ATI entries that are present in the Add/Remove programs list.

Well it has beaten me,and I don't give up easily, I removed every scrap of Nvida and AMD ,ATI references I could find then rebooted and then downloaded driver pack, it installed Ok and I checked the "Custom Install "this time and still nothing, so I did a system restore with great difficulty, and after an hour or so I have got it all working again,
I guess I will have to wait until I go to the city again, and they can install a new card. or update the driver on this one, I don't think the Radeon is a good as the G Force, but that was faulty and they replaced it with the Radeon.
Thanks very much for your help and prompt reply's with the advice,
I may have to up date my tower, as mine in now 8 years old,it has a new HDD and max memory and updated cards,???
Well Evan , Thanks again Regards Des.

Sorry that you couldn't get your issue resolved. :( Did you run the Driver Sweeper program that I suggested?

Hi, I did all that you suggested, but no luck, it does not seem as bad now ,only on the high definition ones , perhaps it is too old, I wonder if that is the latest driver for that card , I can't find an actual list of the drivers , it just say's it will up date ,
but I have been looking at an upgrade ( new tower), they are resonabley priced, do you have a preference between Intell or Amd. I have had the same Amd tower for over 8 years and no trouble with the main components. just upgrades the extra's,
    Well thanks again
    Cheers Des.
