Resolved My computer enter power save mode

    Hello Guys, My computer HP compaq dx2200 showing power save mode. I have disconnect all the component on the board am still having the same problem. I have connect the monitor to another computer and i can see that the monitor is working very fine. I removed the cmos battery still yet i still have the same problem. Please help!!!!!

    Could be one or more of a multitude of problems such as a bad power supply, memory, motherboard, etc.

    First thing I'd try is hooking up a known-good power supply.

    I have use another power to power the computer.............Could this be Power pack on the computer?

    The problem. This computer comes up before this problem occur. It has already boot to login screen.

    Hi babatunde. Does the computer actually power on and do you see the HP logo screen? Or does the monitor just stay black when you power on the computer?

    I would reseat any components that are connected to the motherboard like the RAM and video card and check for any loose connections.

    before the problem started, it has already boot to the login screen but i did not enter the password to the computer because i was busy with other computer. However when i finish i found out that the computer has enter power save mode and till now d computer still on save mode. All the component on the computer has been removed dust yet still on save power mode :(

    After what you have already done, I have two supects: Your power supply (PSU) and the onboard video.

    Yes. I have solved the problem. Now the solution was. I removed the PSU and i use Multi-tester meter to check the output voltage on it and when i open the PSU two capacitor were bad and i replaced.

    Kinda' figured it was the PSU. (Been there, done that, w-a-y to many times. :))
