My wifes laptop running windows Vista is about to die.You guys tried to help but ended up suggesting a new laptop.
Now she has hundreds of emails and folders and subfolders in vista windows mail. Windows 7 on a new laptop only has windows mail live which stores all the mails on the internet, she does not want this she wants to transfer all her stuff to the windows 7 PC and stores all the mails etc on the hard drive, with all the functionality of vista windows mail.
    Can this be done?

I have Windows Live Mail on Windows 7 and use it the same way I used Outlook Express and Windows Mail...retrieve mail from my ISP and a web mail account or two and keep it locally (on the hard drive).

Just set up her email account in Windows Mail Live up like you did Windows Mail. You'll find the same "Accounts" window to do that as was present in both Outlook Express and Windows Mail by click on the drop-down arrow to the right of the message icon at the upper left-hand corner of the Windows Live Mail window.

In the menu that opens, go to "Options" and in the menu that opens, click on "Email Accounts." Click the "Add" button and step through the wizard to set up her email accounts to send and receive email.
