[Can a cheap short HDMI cable be cause poor video?]

    Can a cheap short HDMI cable cause poor video when hook up from a HP laptop to a TV at 1920/1080 at full screen?
    I only have a problem when trying to watch streaming video at 1920/1080 full screen. I change to a lower Resolution and the picture is not jerky also audio out of sync.
    It’s no internet lag I buffer the video I have the same problem?

    I always use cheap (inexpensive) HDMI cables and see no loss in picture quality. The so called high price and quality cable (Monster) that came with one of my TVs gave me the same picture as the cheap one.

    Got to agree here. Cheap is good. Monster is WAY overpriced.

    The usual causes of these problems are:

    1. video itself is poor quality, created using weird codec settings.
    2. video software decodes the stream poorly.
    3. viewing the video using resolutions not supported by its codecs.

    Thank your all for your posted. How can they get away with charging $1000 for a cable?? We can call this busted.
