I have an elderly friend who is having trouble reading her mail.
She would like to increase the size of the font for both compose and receive.
I can change the size but when I close OE then open again it’s at the default size.

Is there a way to make the changes permanent?

One other problem she has is the word wrap, I can’t find a way to set this. The print just keeps going to the right and you have to scroll over to continue reading.

I don't know the version of OE but it was shipped with XP.

    Thanks.

For the default font size, see the instructions in How to Set Font Size in Outlook Express 6.

Outlook Express should be automatically wrapping the lines to fit the available space in the message window so it may be she just needs to to make the message window smaller so that it does not extend outside the screen.

    To do that:
    1. Place the mouse cursor over the visible left-hand edge of the message window until it turns into a double-headed arrow.
    2. Press and hold the left mouse button, then drag the edge of the message window to the right about halfway across the screen.
    3. Place the mouse cursor over the top border of the message window, press and hold the left mouse button and drag the entire window to the left until the right edge is visible.
    4. Once both edges are accessible, the message window can be moved and the size adjusted to the placement and size she prefers. Outlook Express will remember that size and placement until it is changed again manually.

Thanks very much for your reply.

I'll try the word wrap and see if that helps, I didn't know that.

The font size seems some what familiar, but I'll try it again.

I'm going to mark this problem Resolved for now.

    Thanks again
