Currently using Microsoft Security Essentials with a daily scheduled run of SuperAntiSpyware. I have read some comments that MSE alone isn't enough of a safety factor. I also know that is not advisable to run more than one AV program. Question is would there be any problem to run a separate AV program such as Avast along with MSE ?

I wouldn't do it... I would run the stand a lone version of MalewareBytes once a week or so.

I forgot that I just downloaded Malwarebytes yesterday and plan on using it also.
    Appreciate the reply.

Hi Budo. I also wouldn't use another full antivirus program with MSE. Just use MalwareBytes Anti-Malware with MSE if you want to make sure your computer is better protected. You could also install Spyware Blaster too which doesn't use up any system resources and it helps fortify your Internet browsers from threats.

Got to agree with the above 100%. What you see in my signature is all that I have on all my PC's. Grandkids use the stew out of them when they come over and I never had anything that I couldn't get off with what I have installed. Just remember, "KEEP THEM UPDATED ".

Great confirmations from all of you.I had read somewhere recently where someone had mentioned MSE did not do a complete job and another AntiVirus should be used along with it. I realize you will get pros and cons from any program but it did have me concerned because MSE and SuperAntispyware was all my wife was using on her computer.(she now has Malwarebytes also).
    Feel better about it now.
    Thanks
