Hello, hope in correct place, anyway I had to pop out my battery (round silver one) and put back in place. Since then it says I have a Floppy Drive when I re-boot and to hit F1 to continue. Well I have to find out how to get rid of problem so I can do a re-install of OS. Computer I guess looks like different PC so I can't use my Win7 CD to do install. Sorry if to much info.
    Thanks, Paul

Go into the CMOS/BIOS Setup and make your CD/DVD drive the first drive in the boot order. If you don't have or need a floppy drive, you might go ahead and disable it while you're in there.

Pulling the battery out like you did re-set the BIOS to basic settings which included the floppy drive..... Cause odds are your mobo has a floppy controller.

    Hi Paul.

Yes, if you disable the floppy drive as a boot device then the machine will not look for a floppy drive when you boot up the machine.

Most system BIOS's include an option to boot from floppy drives even if the machine doesn't include one. Floppy drives are no longer being included with newer PC's but the system BIOS's still include them as a boot option.

As Steve said, some new motherboards still include floppy controllers for compatibility reasons but OEM's don't really include floppy drives with their machines anymore so you can safely disable the floppy drive boot device.

Thanks Steve & Evan, you both explained my problem perfect. Rather than just fixing it its great to learn about problem. As I said the battery is about $5 at radio Shack.
    Thanks again,
