You could encrypt the drive with Truecrypt as described here

Unfortunately, I will be using it on various PC in hotels etc. Truecrypt won't work without admin privileges.

    Thank you anyway.

Are you using your own PC or one that is available where you are at? If your own, that will work.

If you had Windows 7 Ultimate or Enterprise (I know you don't - at least your profile lists Windows 7 Professional) you could use BitLocker To Go. I use it on one of my flash drives, works like a charm.

    To answer all questions.

I have Win7 Home Premium, not Win7 Pro, so will have to correct my profile.

When I travel will be using whatever pc I can get my hands on. using my own PC at home only. I use iPad, iPhone and a Nokia N800 when I travel.
Take flash drive along in case, I need to get access to some of my private info. All my travel is now vacation, as I am retired (Horray).

Leaving tomorrow, so no time to get new flash drive.

As my drive is a SanDisk Cruzer, I just thought of checking with SanDisk and results are:
I went to SanDisk web site and was able to download their secure access program for the flash drive.
    http://www.sandisk.com/products/software/secureaccess/

Based on what website says, the drive probably came with the protection software, but somehow I deleted it.
Not sure if this program would work on other brand flash drives as well.

So PeteC, Arie and Mr. Bill, thank you all for your suggestions, as you got me thinking along the right track to figure out a way to do this.:)

Will also be closing thread later today.
