I am unable to install programs to C drive Programs file where I prefer.

I do not have access to this file since I installed a tor-related OS called Tails.

Tails requires I give a password to access my files when I use it.

Ever since I created this password I have been unable to access some files when I use Windows 7 and am not in Tails.

I am wondering how I can deal with this to be able to access all files in with either OS.

    any suggestions appreciated.

that is exactly how I use it and that is the only way TAILS can be used.

it gives you the option of a password, and I took this option.

ever since then, there are some files I cannot access even when TAILS is not being used and I am in Windows 7.

Today I could not access Documents and Settings.

There is a small lock symbol on the folder icon.

I set a restore point to before my installation of Tails but the files in C drive still will not allow access, even though I use a password account.

So, I do not know at this point if this was caused by Tails or Windows.

More than likely by Tails. How are you accessing Tails USB flash drive or a dvd. Whatever you do don't uninstall the program. I've been hunting around for a suitable answer. So hang in there.

    lj50 --

    thank you for your efforts.

I burn TAILS to a DVD.

I did not think you could "uninstall" TAILS since it only runs from the DVD.

I have been cleaning out the files preparing for to reinstall Windows.

The TAILS people say v. 12 has security flaws and have now issued v. 13.

I have burned the DVD but not run it yet.

I am not using the computer described in my profile. I am using a Win 7 laptop.
