In prior versions of Seamonkey I could double click on an .mp3 attachment in Seamonkey mail RSS news feed [botars old time radio] and it would begin playing in the browser [I am using Crescendo to open the file] Since SM version 2.10 and up a double click on the attachment does nothing, I can right click on it and select open and it will open in the browser and start playing using Crescendo. I asked this in mozilla.support.seamonkey but received no answer. Perhaps I am phrasing it wrong. It does not matter what type of file it is a double click does nothing and it used to open with the appropriate program in a browser window. Is there something in about:config that applies to this or is this a bug or ???
    Thanks,

    quickshot

What happens if you click this link: Air_Raid_Siren.mp3? It should open (play) using whatever you have setup in Seamonkey's Edit > Preferences... > Helper Applications > MP3 Format Sound (audio/mpeg).

If I left click it, it then starts playing in a browser window with crescendo. I only have trouble when clicking on a attachment in the mail-new-it use to open in the browser when I doubled clicked on them.

Yes it plays fine from that link but if you receive it as an attachment in your email or news feed it does not open when clicked on. If you receive the link in the body of a email it will open in a browser window when clicked.

    Which email?

Using Seamonkey it worked for me (with a single-click) in Yahoo.com, Gmail.com and Outlook.com.

It also works (with a single-click) in Outlook 2003 and Outlook 2010.

And, that's both embedded and as an attachment.

In Seamonkey, click Edit, click Preferences..., expand Advanced, click Scripts & Plugins, in the "Enable Plugins for:" section, select "Mail & Newsgroups ", click OK.

I will try to create a new profile with no extensions and see if one of my extensions is causing the problem. I thank everyone for trying to find a solution for me. I will attach a list of my extensions.

    Thanks again
