I have a program that won't load at startup. It's listed in msconfig under the Startup tab. When I try to start it manually, the UAC window pops up and asks if I really want to run the program. I suspect that is the problem. Any ideas how to work around the problem? The same program works just fine on another Win 7 computer. I can't determine how the two computers are configured differently.

I found a work around. The Tools tab in msconfig listed "Change UAC Settings ". I clicked on Launch and changed the setting to Never Notify. Now the program runs. Is there a way to selectively do that for individual programs?

    Hi wjburl.

No you can't disable UAC for individual programs but you can disable UAC for administrators only and still keep your system somewhat secure instead of completely disabling UAC. Take a look at this link, Disable User Account Control(UAC) For Administrators Only.

Evan, Thank you for the help. I am the only user and also the administrator. I think I can live with this solution. This is a computer dedicated to running a program to monitor my security cameras. I had a problem with automatic updates that caused the system to re-boot. Another choice was to change the update setting. This computer runs 24/7 and notifies me when there are recordings triggered by motion detection. The recordings a saved to the cloud for me to play.
