I've read about the disadvantages of composing emails in HTML format. Well, is it true that composing emails in HTML format will cause security issues and also, the other party might not be able to view what I've composed properly?

Well, I would like suggestion if I should disable/convert emails that are sent to me in HTML format. Because, I've heard that some spammers, creates email in HTML format and when I reads it (or when I receive it and sees in my preview panel) in outlook 2000, they are able to determine if I've read it. So, should I disable HTML emails to be read? If yes, how is it possible to set the options in both Outlook 2000 & Outlook Express 6?

    Thanks in advance ;)

I read mail only as Plain Text simply as a matter of preference. There’s no risk associated with HTML mails (vulnerabilities within the MS clients have now been patched) and the "phone home" issue can be overcome by using a firewall to limit client port usage (see my second post in this thread). People who view their mail in Plain Text are able to read HTML mails - it’s simply the case that the HTML is stripped away and the mails are displayed in Plain Text format.

So, how is it possible to configure my email client to read all email messages in plain text? (I'm using Outlook 2000). Couldn't find the option to read all emails in plain text though. The only option available is for composing in plain text.

    Thanks :)

I'm using OE 6, so don't know if you have the same options, but you might want to take a look at Tools|Options and click the Read tab. The fourth option under "READING MESSAGES" is "Read all Messages in Plain Text ".

    HTH.

In Outlook 2000 it's possible only if you use a third party utility such as the Chilton Preview.
