 I've just received the latest newsletter and, naturally, clicked on the link to answer the current question (Windows 8 or not?).

It didn't work, neither did the link direct to BBS in my Favourites list, nor did typing the address in the address box!

I then discovered that some of the newsletter links worked, which is how I got here. A search of posts revealed an apparently similar problem which was resolved - does the problem still exist in some form?

Must be somethimg at my end, then - but what? Suggestions welcome.

What I actually get with the links that don't work is a blank BBS window, and the progress indication at the bottom says 'Done' (and, very briefly) 'but with errors on page'.

I haven't checked all of them, but the links in the Newsletter that do work are 'Edit your details' and 'this link' under Forgot Password. The others react as above, as does my long-standing 'favourites' link.

I have not intentionally made any changes to IE8, and the problem has (so far) not shown up anywhere else.

Hi Mr Bill - yes, I could try that, but why should I need to? IE has been working perfectly (including accessing BBS!) for years. Any mileage in re-installing IE?

This morning I reloaded a full system backup from early July but still no change, so the problem is more than a month old. Funny that it has not shown up before and, apparently, only re WindowsBBS.

My truck has been taking me to the same store for years. Then one day it broke down and didn't take me. So I went in another vehicle.

Try a different browser. I am like you and only use IE but do have FF installed incase something was to happen to IE at least I could get on the net and check out what to do. Try running IE without any add-ons. If that works, enable them one at a time till you find the problem. Not saying it is an add-on, but you never know and that would be a place to start and easiest to do.

    Internt access to BBS

 This is the wierdest thing I've come across in years!!!

I've done absolutely NOTHING (certainly nothing related to IE) but it's all now working perfectly!

Obviously no point in asking anyone why this should be, but thanks to all who considered the problem.
