Oops! I wrote my first question in the wrong place....the introduction thread. So here I go again.

After I have finished searching on a subject that I have typed in the search bar, the words are still there where I return to my home page, and I have to delete them before doing another search. I think this problem just started after the last Window's update.

Is there a way to fix this?

    Thanks

Hi Jill. What Internet browser are you using to access the Internet?

Try deleting your browsing history and see if that solves the problem.

Are you using a toolbar to perform your web searches or are you searching from IE9's address bar?

I am using the search bar on my home page....Yahoo Canada. Also, I did try deleting history but it didn't seem to do anything.

Try going to Bing (MSN.com) or Google (Google.com) and search for an item using those search engines and see if that changes anything.

Thanks. I went into Google.ca and also Sympatico.ca and I did not have that problem on these search engines. I used to use Sympatico as my home page but changed because I noticed if I wanted to save a web page into 'Favourites' it would not list just the one I wanted, but the whole Bing search.

Thanks also to SpywareDr. I tried what you suggested but not sure if I did it right when I got to "Auto Complete Section ". It didn't work for me.

If Google or MSN works without any problems then its most likely an issue with the Yahoo search engine. The fact that Yahoo saves your previous searches is probably more of a feature with Yahoo than with the Bing or Google search engines.

If you are satisfied with using Google or Bing as your main search engine then you can always make one of those sites as your default search provider. For instructions on how to do this take a look here, How to add or change search providers in Internet Explorer 9.
