    Hi,

if I decide to install Windows 8 Release Preview on an HDD that stores Win7 already will the Win8 installer create another System Reserved partition? If not, will it overwrite the files created by Win7? I want to install Win8 RP alongside Win7.

Also, I heard that the earlier edition, called Consumer Previous, caused data corruption on the remaining partitions that was probably caused by the hybrid boot that was enabled by default. Do you know if that hybrid boot feature is now disabled by default in Release Preview?

You should only install Win 8 on a NON critical pc in case things go terribly wrong.

You might want to consider installing it in a VirtualPC environment.

Installed Win 8---on a NON--essential PC today--- (OLD----P-4 with XP---) and It DOES NOT WORK.... Desktop just sits there and re-Cycles... On and Off...and windows will Not Start.... (( Good thing i had the foresite---to BACK-UP everything that was there that i may need in the future----cause it is Now GONE... and the Machine is No Good for Nothing.... There is NO one @ M.S. to contact for help--- and they don't offer it as a Backup to re-install..... Tommrow---i have the project--of "Cleaning the HD--- to "O "---and re-loading "XP ".... My Suggestion---is STAY AWAY from W-8---un til the Final is released---then wait on the "TEST" results---4-5 Months---before useing it...
