XP Pro MS Backup

    I have been using the backup program included in XP Pro for years with no problems until today. I selected a complete backup for my C: drive including the System State. I am backing up to a removable drive. The backup runs but will only back up the System State without the rest of the drive. I deselected the System State and now it sees to be running but the Processed and Estimated numbers look funny

    It's been a long time ago I used the Windows backup tools, but have come across some issues on client machines.

    To start, check the machines services and make sure COM+ System Application is running. Restart this service & check in the event log at the Application Log to make sure the service started without generating errors.

    Another thing to check, run chkdsk /f /r on all drives (source & backup).
