IE error message won't go away

I'm not sure this is the right forum, but I'll go ahead, anyway.

My problem is that I keep getting a message about an Internet Explorer error. It asks me if I "want to continue running scripts on this page ", and no matter whether I click "yes" or "no ", the message keeps reappearing. It won't go away, and I am forced to do Ctrl/Alt/Del and try to start all over again.

I use AOL, and I know there's a connection with IE. The message is an IE message, so I figured this would be the best place to start looking for help, since it keeps preventing me from accessing my usual forum, "Abuzz ".

Is this a Javascript problem by any chance? I am running into difficulty with my local public library consortium screen which says that Javascript is needed to access the list of libraries, and won't pass me along to the catalog I need.

Can anyone help? (Simplest language, please>)

    Try this:
Go up to tools.....then internet options....under the advanced tab....take the check mark out of "Display a notification about every script error ".

    Queuedecoton,

The problem that is causing the error is more than likly a bug in the script that is in the page that you are viewing. To stop the messages from displaying, you need to make a change to the IE settings.

From the menu bar in IE, click 'Tools', --> 'Internet Options...'. This will open a new window that has several tabs across the top. Select the 'Advanced' tab. In the 'Browsing' section, uncheck the following 2 items (they should be the 4th & 5th in the section):

    Disable script debugging
Display a notification about every script error

This should make the error messages stop.

Thanks, Daizy and Compdude. I follow your instructions and unchecked the debugging box. The other wasn't checked, so I'm still not sure what's going on. Nut I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Sorry for sticking my nose in here but
I think that what compdude meant
was to take the check out of :

Display a notification about every script error

    and put a check at:
    Disable script debugging
