    The title says everything.
Just shifted the USB slot position of the mouse and when everytime computer starts it will pop up 'Found New Hardware Wizard' and attempts to install 'HID-compliant mouse' and ask you to auto-search the device drivers or locate the driver in Hardware while USB mouse is 'Plug-and-Play' Device and windows should auto-detect drivers and install it.

Everytime I got annoyed with this message because I have to click 'Cancel'. Then a balloon pops up and says 'the driver is not installed properly'. I've checked Device Manager and nothing weird there. Can anyone find a solution to stop the 'wizard' from popping up again every time i start the computer?

p/s: this happens in my old desktop, OS Windows XP.

Why did you change positions? It must be working as you say you have to click it to get rid of it. Did you do this while the PC was on or off?

MrBill: I've just moved my PC to a new computer table. Got everything plugged out before that and when I re-plugged in all the wires I changed the USB slot position of the mouse. Yeah I did this when the PC is off

Glad you got it working. What did you do to solve it? It may help someone else down the road with the same problem.
