    So I have a Linksys Wireless-G router Model: WRT54G2

But the computer (that depends on the wireless) gets the following error message:

Pure Networks Platform Service has encountered a problem and needs to close.

What does that mean? What could have caused that? and how can I fix this?

    Thanks.

    Two things to try.

    Thie one is from MS.

    - Do you have "Network Magic" software installed on your computer?

Method 1: As a first step, try to restart the Pure Networks Platform service on your computer.

Follow these steps to do the same:

    a. Click Start. Click Run. Type in Services.msc and press Enter.

    b. In the Services window, locate Pure Networks Platform service.

    c. Right click on the service and click Restart.

    d. Restart the computer and check if you have got rid of the error message.

Uninstall Network Magic and reinstall from the Manufactures Web site.

The one below is from another site.

Uninstall Network Magic, which is the offending application. This is a useless utility anyway, and normally just serves to confuse the issue when you have networking issues.

    Thanks.
I tried that before but it didn't work.

But I figured it out. It's resolved.

I reconfigured the router from WEP to WPAC2 Personal. I don't think that step was even necessary.

I called a tech guy and he said I had to uninstall the driver but that didn't do anything. So I started tinkering around with it myself.

Then on the start menu I highlighted "connect to" then clicked on the wireless network, entered the security key, and that was it.
