    Hi guys,

    This one has me stumped.

I have a home network set up. It consists of 4 laptops and 1 desk top.
The desk top is wired and the laptops are wireless.
From my desktop I can see 3 of those laptops with full access to all files. I can copy, change and print anything on those laptops.
Also all those laptops have access to the desk top with full access to all files.
The 4th laptop is invisible to all other computers, but can read and access all files on all computers. So it is on the network.
When I click on Start "“ My Network Places "“ view network computers, it is listed, but when I click on it, it tells me:

\\Svenlaptop is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permission.
The network path was not found.

I have given permission to share drive "C" on the network, but it does not even show up on any computer.

I know that it was working at some time. The only change I made was I installed a new wireless adaptor.
    I installed a Netgear Range Max Wireless - N WN511B

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
    Sven

BTW: running XP home on desk top and XP PRO on laptops

Run the Network Setup Wizard on the laptop.

    Steve,
yes all have the same name

    Tony,
    That did the trick.
When I change adapters, do I have to run the wizard again?
Don't remember ever having to do that.
    Thanks for the help
    Sven

Yes, that's usually what's needed because network connections are associated with a MAC address of the adapter. Sometimes Windows will seamlessly update its "awareness" of existing network connections, shares, etc., and sometimes Windows just fizzles after the adapter driver gets installed, in which case one runs the setup wizard.
