I'm sorry, I guess that thing popping up in the middle of my screen confused the heck out of me. That's the thing that pops up when you click the icon, then you click mixer blah blah. Anyways, It's supposed to pop up on the bottom right above the taskbar, but now It's popping up in the middle of my desktop which is incredibly annoying.

However, I just started up Diablo 3 and tried it, and it popped up on the bottom right where It's supposed to be, then checked again and it was back in the middle of the screen.

Installed any new drivers? I'd look into new drivers, display drivers or would attempt a System Restore to a date prior the 1st appearance of the problem.

Another option is the run the build in "Troubleshoot audio playback ". In your Start programs and files box on the Start menu, type Troubleshooting. Click the Troubleshooting Control Panel icon that is listed on your Start menu, and below Hardware and Sound click on Troubleshoot audio playback.

If this is a laptop, here's another tip I ran across:

Turn off your laptop, remove the battery and unplug the power supply. Wait a few minutes and then plug the power supply back in the laptop and run it without the battery. See if that fixes it. If it does, shut down, remove the power supply, put the battery back in, connect the power supply and you should be good to go.

Yes I installed a new display driver for D3 on Tuesday and the problem started occurring last night. I tried the troubleshooting idea but that did not do much.

Actually, as I was writing this post I simply reinstalled the AMD Catalyst package and the popup is back to normal. I think the problem may have been: I downloaded the package from the AMD website and installed it. Right after I did that, I opened up Catalyst Control Center and I was prompted to download and install a new version, which I started, then canceled when I noticed it was the same version I had just downloaded from the website. That might've fuzzed something.

    Thanks Arie!
