    When I startup my computer, a COMODO Internet Security Error Report pops up and says that I have just found a bug in COMODO Internet Security and it needs to close. This is what the report contains: CRASH.DMP
    Then another box pops up and it reads as follows:

    Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library
    Runtime Error!
    Program: C:\Program Files\COMODO\COMODO Internet Security\cfp.exe
    This application has requested the Runtime to terminate it in an unusual way. Please contact the application's support team for more information

    I have tried to find out what to do in the COMODO forums but I cannot find anything so I thought I would ask here.

    Am I risking a firewall breach with this down or are other parts of COMODO still protecting me? I am also running AVIRA antivirus.

    Thanks.

    You are running 2 AV programs and that is a problem right there. They will confilict with one another as you have just found out. Are these both free or are you paying for one or both of them? Take one off and see what happens. Bet the problem will go away.

    MrBill is right. Always run only one anti virus/security suite. Running more doesn't provide any additional protection but can cause lots of headaches.

    Thanks, will try that. Now that you mention it, Avira has had problems when shutting down my computer.
    Will see what happens for a few days. If all goes well I will mark the post "Resolved ".

    UPDATE: I uninstalled Avira, used cCleaner to cleanup, restarted and the same message popped up. I uninstalled COMODO entirely and then downloaded COMODO from their site, re-installed and now everything seems fine.

    Thanks for your help.

    Just a PS. For those of us not as smart as you guys, is there a place to go or a general rule regarding what can be installed with what so that it is all compatible. (Including Spyware, Antivirus, Firewall and Malware) If so, can you make it a stickie?

    If you read what I have under this post, that is what I have installed on my 4 PC's. Kids and grandkids and all of my friends use the same thing. I use MSE and you can use COMODO and that is fine with the stuff I have listed. Most important thing is to KEEP THEM UPDATED. I do all mine once a week and so do the kids and grandkids. I have those in a folder and named it Every Friday. That way they don't forget like us old people do. :D

    Thanks Mr. Bill. I also try to update at least once a week on a regular basis and for consistency, I like to use the same thing on each computer that I have running.

    UPDATE: just yesterday I received another bug message on COMODO so I don't know what is going on. COMODO is the only thing I am running currently as far as Antivirus/Firewall. I also use Spybot, SpywareBlaster, and CCleaner.

    However, I am still going to mark this as a resolved issue. Thanks to everyone for your help.
