    Hello,
I have a Packard Bell Easy Note SW51-B-012 running Windows Vista SP2.
It got to a point where, on starting , it would only get to the Packard Bell Logo (with options for F2 or F8) and would get stuck there. I tried the boot disk I had made some years earlier and tried the F2 and F8 options on starting but nothing. I googled this and someone suggested diconnecting the bios battery and re-connecting it, which I did. It then started, by using F2 and the boot disk, into the bios options, I exited that and it started up normal mode. I then re-set the laptop to factory settings. After that it started ok using the boot disk and I installed avg, and advance systemcare 5. As part of these installs it does a restart which works fine but if I close it down it needs the boot disk to start again. Also if it is not used for a while it goes into a sort of hibernation (where the power button light goes off) but when I push the power button to come on it comes out of hibernation but advises it cannot find a usb item then goes to a blue screen.
Any help to resolve this please
    Regards
    Peter

Have you checked Power Options Settings? May be Default has gone to Hibernation minimum. Neil.

Hello Neil, I have adjusted the power options and I think that has resolved that.
I have also resolved the USB not being recognised, it was the wireless mouse (i realised that although the mouse was working I hadn't actually re-installed the software for it after doing the factory reset.
