if i wanted to take a screenshot from a video clip, how would i do it?

pressing Print Scrn won't work. the image doesn't show/save.

i tried using different players such as the divx one, wmp, and mplayer2 but still no luck

    Hi taki

You will need to install a video capture card. Capturing video clips is one of many features the card can do for you. Try this site to see which features would best meet your needs.

Notice they also have a forum for additional assistance. Good luck.

I find "Print Screen" to work very well for video capture if you first slow down the Hardware Acceleration.

    Hello

If you're interested in good quality screen shots, then you need Irfan View and also these plugins. After install, you just extract all files from iv_mmedia.zip to the
"Plugins" folder ( inside Irfan View directory ).
Now, when you wish to make a screenshot from a
video clip, run IV_PLAYER.EXE (it's in Plugins folder ), open your video clip via IV_PLAYER, then press "Extract frames" button, choose the folder where you wish to extract frames, select from Start Frame & End Frame the likely range and
    hit OK.
NB: when open the video clip via IV_PLAYER, it
will open your clip in your default movies player
(WMPlayer, I guess), so you can see at which time
(H:min:sec) is the frame you're interested in and
therefore you can calculate easily the corresponding frame range. The frames are extracted as BMP files, so the best possible quality but also largest size; you need to narrow
as much as possible the frame range.
Another way would be, if you're in a hurry / the quality it's not very important, to run Irfan View, drag your video clip icon onto its window (which you may need to ajust first, in order to access "Pause" button to freeze the image when you need)and finally press PrintScreen key.

    good luck

    Stefan
