win7 Documents files disapeared, how do I recover

    My Documents, My Photos etc Folders have had the files disapeared within them. Can anyone tell me if there is a way of recovering them. I have run the Windows Recovery set to a previous date, but to of no avail. Any help would be apreciated. Cheers Brian

    Hi Brian and Welcome to Windows BBS :)

    You could start with a system wide scan of a known file name. For example, Say you had a word document called "Letter to Joe" - do a search for "Letter to Joe.doc ".

    That would locate that file (assuming it hasn't been deleted!!). It may be that the folders have been renamed but if you find one file, chances are that your other files are in the same locality.
