I run Firefox 11 on my windows 7 32 bit pc. I occasionally find firefox "Not Responding ". It automatically fixes most of the time. But sometimes it doesn't. I have to terminate the process from Task Manager. Then comes the problem. I terminate firefox.exe. Firefox closes but still there is a firefox.exe process which has no "Description ". Says "Access Denied" when I try to terminate it. If I Open File Location for that process, it opens to desktop but desktop is not fully loaded; the address bar of explorer keeps loading. Restarting the pc fixes it. I have an updated antivirus. Checked my pc with several antiviruses (not simultaneously). But found no such infection. This happens twice or thrice but the freezing occurs several times. I hope you can help with some information. Thanks.

Does this happen on a site that you're familiar with and is known to be up and running?

Have you tried an Un-install and Re-install of Firefox 11? Neil.

You may also have some broken paths or missing links in the registry. I've peridically run into problems with FF not responding or not fully terminating when closed. When that happens, I run Registry Booster to scan, repair and defrag the registry and that has always resolved the issues.

Could be due to some addon too. Try running FF with all addons disabled & see if the problem occurs.

Keep away from these Registry Booster/cleaners. Some times they may help but most of the times they are just a waste of money/time & could render the registry corrupt.

There are certainly a load of scams and shams out there for registry cleaning. Registry Booster from Uniblue, however, is a legitimate product that works. I've used it successfully without an issue for over 5 years.
