Resolved Outlook 2010 Profile request when opened

Every time Outlook 2010 is started, there is a pop up request to choose a profile, even though the box, "Options: Set as default profile" has been checked. There is only one profile. How can the request be permanently satisfied?

Second, where is the choice to null the ability to delete the trash when closing Outlook 2010? As it is, one has to click twice to close Outlook 2010; once, which drives the deletion, then another to close Outlook 2010. I wish to NOT have the trash deleted when closing Outlook 2010.
