    Hi all,

I found this site while looking for help with my XP 2002; I recently reloaded the entire operationg system to clean out years of accululated stuff including something that recently caused my keyboard and some other critical parts to stop functioning. Long story short is that no I can no longer connect to the internet via that computer. Not a great lose but still I would like to fix it.

    Welcome aboard.

Did you install the drivers correctly ? The XP cd has only a limited drivers & your
hardware may not be supported out of the box. Look for the drivers in the cd that came with your computer/motherboard.

Hi Mike Petersen, Welcome to Windowsbbs! :)

As rsinfo said, you need to find the driver CD that came with the computer. If you don't have a driver CD then see if you can indentify what network card the computer has installed.

Yes that was exactly it. I've gotten past that problem and now am faced with loading the USB dirver. It is on the original CD, but I've obviously done something wrong when re-loading the OS. ( Home XP). Thanks for the assit and when i figure out how to mark this thread as "answered" I will do so.

    Hi Mike and Welcome!!

Try going into Device Manager and seeing if you have any big yellow question marks against any of the hardware. If you do, right click on it and get it to search for a driver. Just point it towards your Cd drive and get it to search the Cd for the correct driver.
