    Hi
Installing an audigy soundcard in xp has meant that i have a sound I dont want on starting up windows. This overlaps with the one I have set up in win xp. Any ideas how to get rid of the audigy sound please?

A stab in the dark: open up the XP Control Panel, click on Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices and look in there for a list of system sounds. Theoretically, the SB Audigy should be listed, and the sounds for it can be disabled.

Go to start button-->all programs-->creative-->Sound blaster audigy-->click on "creative EAX ". A blue box with a play button and a button that looks like a sheet of paper will open above the clock. Click on the play button... Is that the offending sound? Now click on the button that looks like a sheet of paper. Uncheck the box "load on startup" and the sound won't play on startup. This is just an EAX demo and will not affect the functioning of the sound card. It took me about a month to find what was causing that problem after installing my Audigy MP3 card.
