    Hello,

I have some old recipes typed up in the Works Word Processor.

I would like to open the recipes and possibly convert them into the Word 2007 Word Processor.

I no longer have the original disks that the Microsoft Works program was on.

My question is, how can I open these documents without the program itself.

These documents have the extension .wps.

    Thank you for your help.

If you have Libre Office or OpenOffice, or MS Office 2010--these programs can open WPS files. After opening the file, you could simply save it as another format.

Thank you for your help. I did download the converter but it did not do a good job of opening the documents. It had so much formatting marks in it and was hard to read.

I'm downloading Open Office now and will see how this works.

Thank you so much for your help.

No problem. Of course OpenOffice is going to be slower than a batch converter, but (barring document corruption) it will give you a very readable and printable file.
