When I click on the FF icon to enable it, there is a flash showing the desktop with transparent diagonal lines running across before FF loads. I'm using FF 11. When I load any other browser (IE9, Google Chrome, Opera) I do not get this flash but go directly to the start page. Any ideas how to get rid of this nuisance? It seemed to come about when I updated to FF 11.

Hi JamesD, Welcome to WindowsBBS. Try an un-install and then Re- install and see if it settles down. I have FF 11.0 using it now and no problems. Neil.

Uninstalling (completely) and reinstalling did the trick. I went so far as to erase my profile and settings and it took a while to get everything back (using Lastpass) but it is all perfect once more. Thanks, retiredlearner, for your help.
