I moved my desktop icons to the top of the desktop and somehow I now have 2 recycle bins. I had changed the name from recycle to Trash. I now have both named Trash. One of them can be deleted and the other cannot be deleted. The one that can be deleted is the one that is used to operate the recycle shortcut. I would like to get rid of the one that cannot be deleted.

Hi wahlroot. Can you post a screenshot of your problem so I can see what the issue is more clearly?

Ahh ok. Try this. Right click on the Desktop and select Personalize. After the Personalize window opens click the link that says Change Desktop icons. Uncheck the Recycle bin icon and then click on Ok.

Let me know if the other Recycle Bin icon is gone.

I went to the Desktop Icon Settings. UnChecked the Recycle Bin. The Recycle Bin that does not delete now is deleted. The Recycle Bin that does delete is still in place. I recheck Recycle Bin on Desktop Icon Settings and now it is back where it was. I do not know what to think.

I'm confused. The Recycle Bin that you unchecked is the actual Recycle Bin in Windows. The other Recycle Bin icon that you said that you can delete is merely a shortcut to the Recycle Bin.

Why not just delete the Recycle Bin shortcut and leave the regular Recycle Bin on your desktop?
