    Hi,

So i have been using my HP Pavilion dv6 laptop for months now and i always prefer Firefox as my default web browser. I have been using it on my PC as well in which i have Win XP. It worked fine there and never gave me any problem what so ever.

But on my laptop, suddenly during my use, Firefox gets stuck and on the top bar it says (Not Responding). i have to stay idle in that case until the Not Responding message goes away and i can resume with my work. But i am getting to worry why this problem has started all of a sudden. And ya it's not like my whole computer gets stuck. Only Firefox does.

Any suggestions as for why is this happening and what can i do to fix this problem ?

Sorry, I don't know what is happening but I can reassure you that it's not your computer as I have had the same experience more often than I would like.

The obvious reaction is to close the browser window and then restart but this is only partially successful because what usually happens is that you get a message that tells you that an instance of FireFox is already running. The solution at this point is to open the Task Manager and kill the firefox.exe process.

Yo can then reopen the browser and it seems to remain stable for another period.
