Can someone please tell me how best to include a Qbasic program file on my web site so that it is available for downloading?

I've no idea what a qbasic program is, but can you just zip it?

    Thanks for reply.

Yes I can Zip it, and forgive my ignorance but I have
completely forgotten how to get a file on to a website which anyone can then download.

I know about uploading pictures for download but am not sure about any other type of file. The Qbasic file in question is called monty.bas

    Hi again hod
You can do it just as you do pictures. Zip it, and point your browser to the address that you have it stored, or you can create a simple web page, and link to it?

Do you have enough web space for this file?

But when I treat it as a picture that's exactly what I get! It downloads as a picture of a zipped file which is impossible to open as it's just a picture.

I've plenty of space for the file which is only 2kb

What I don't understand is how I get a file, other than a picture file, onto a web page (or a link to it) so it can be downloaded.

    Thanks for trying to help.

How are you uploading it to the web space?
Have you got the URL so we can test it?
It could be your file association thinking that all .zip files are pictures.

As rebbot has already mentioned, what are you using for your webspace? Is it a domain you own? The space provided by your ISP? Or a free site? It makes a difference.

    Thanks Reboot and Daizy.

I've cracked it! I was effectively EMBEDDING the file as a picture instead of setting up a link to it as a separate web page.

It now works well and thank you again for putting me on the right track.
