Yesterday, after having Epson tech support try to solve a printer problem, I developed a RunTime Error. This is the error message: Runtime Error !
    Program: C\Sierra\CardZone\Planner.exe abnormal program termination.

I've searched the Internet trying to find an answer to a couple of questions.

Is this just a Windows Vista file or would re-installing the entire program do any good? I really use the Planner daily.

I ran System File Checker, tried System Restore twice and tried one online suggestion. None did any good.

I also tried Safe Mode and still get the error message. Is there a way to replace the bad file? Is there a Registry fix?

    Thanks.

Hi vegaspat, I Googled and there seems to be a lot of Gamers having your problem. Have you visited MS "Fixit "? Might be worth a try. Neil.

Is saw that but was going to do some more research tonight.

I found plenty of different postings on the Internet but nothing so far that I thought would correct my issue.

I will check out the Microsoft site again and hopefully find something. I thought when I looked earlier today MS had nothing to "Fix" Runtime errors.

Thanks for the tip and will check it out again.

I did take one suggestion from a BB but then ended up spending time disabling programs all over again from starting up. That's why I'm trying to be very careful.

Seems if nothing that happens to my PC has a quick fix. :(

    Thanks.

It would help us more if you filled in your System Details in User CP. Cheers Neil.;)

I hope I provided enough info for you. Would have to get on the floor to confirm anything else.

My problem may no longer be a problem at this point. Not knowing what else to do and not being able to get a direct answer, I uninstalled the program and tried to re-install. Now the program will not install.

So, it seems my issues just keep compounding.

Thanks for letting me know about updating my specs.

Did you update your specs? If you did, don't see them. Don't forget to save them when you are done. You don't have to get on the floor to do this. A program like Belarc Advisor will tell you everything you need to know.

I did use Belarc and thought I did SAVE them. This is getting complicated. Will take and look and try again.

Just looked and what I did originally is there. Is that NOT enough?

Exactly what else do you need?

If you will go to User CP near the top left, fill out your specs, and save them, they will show like in my post under My System.

I had to search for a different setting. If this doesn't work, I give up. :)

I just looked to the left of my posting and when I click on MY System it shows what I entered. But not under the posting?

    Manually fix Runtime Errors:http://www.windowsanswers.net/articles/fix-runtime-manual
    Have a look here.
I see you also have this problem listed in Cnet Forum.
I would un-install your Cardzone software (you have discs for this?) and work offline. Close your AV down and try a fresh install from the discs.
I see also that Norton AV's can cause a problem with this program. Neil.

Oh, yes I've posted over the entire Internet and still have no good results.

I will check out your link but I did a totally clean uninstall using Revo Uninstaller, rebooted and disabled AVG. Even though I had problems trying to re-install the program, I repeated the process and then researched the error message. THAT was such a simple fix. The software is now installed and I crossed my fingers but NO, the Planner portion came up with the same error message.

I was so aggravated and decided I had spent too much time trying to solve something that perhaps can't be resolved.

I plan on trying today to see if there is anything I could try. If not I will forget about using that Planner.

Believe me, I searched the entire Internet and have never found a clear cut solution. I even piddled in the Registry last night but backed off when I figured I could be in big trouble if I continued.

In 20 years of computing I have never run into this Runtime error. I thought it would be a simple fix like making a Registry change or downloading a file or fix from Microsoft. Never found one. Still can't figure out how Epson could have had me make a change that would have caused this.

Thanks for the link. Will check it out and see if there is anything I can use.

BTW, in my search I did find a site that said it could be fixed with their software. Read reviews and decided that would not be a good move.

Just a suggestion, have you tried un-installing Epson software to see if that is having an effect on your system. Neil.

    No, didn't even consider it.

I just think Epson had me shut down and boot up way too many times. Somehow on the last boot up my graphics display was messed up also. I figured out how to correct that and I knew then I'd never call Epson again. The printer is working now.

The one thing they had me do repeatedly was go into Paint and test the scanner. Their instructions very well could have freaked my system out. :)

Everything else so far seems to be functioning okay so will just not spend any more time on a program that I guess I'll do without.

I appreciate your help and if I EVER figure out if there is a solution I'll be sure to let you know.

    Thanks.

Sorry to be so late getting back to you.

I just checked out the link you provided and downloaded the file but to tell you the truth I'm afraid to install it since it seems to be just the one program that is creating issues.

And since System Restore never seems to work for me I am going to hold off for a while.

Later on when I can devote more time on this problem I will go back to working on it. I spent HOURS and HOURS on it originally .

Thanks for the time you put in on this for me. :)
