Malwarebytes flagged the GIMP files as malware.

So I deleted the whole program.

This is the second program that Malwarebytes seems to be giving a false positive for.

I am pretty sure you can go to MBA-M and report it. What was the other program?

I have software on a cd the came with a Canon LiDE flatbed scanner. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it and Malwarebytes seem to think a lot of the files are spyware.

I just downloaded and reinstalled Firefox, and I had to disable protection from malwarebytes because it was reporting so many files, many of them .dll

I don't use FF, but do keep it on my PC as a backup just incase something happens to IE. I have never had MBA-M report anything on it or have I ever heard anyone complain that it has.

There are some quirky things going on from time to time with my computer.

There may be another cause for these events but I have not sourced them.

Why don't you head to the Virus section and do what is asked there. Broni will take a look and see if maybe something is hiding that may be the problem.
