Using Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bit ------ one of my hard drive reference letter has changed for I to L. Checking Restore computer that the letter I is no longer displayed, backup was all recorded to drive I, there for can no longer elect the drive I as it has changed to L, I can no longer carry out any new restores.
Computer shortcut shows previous letter is now shown as L and another drive previously lettered as G now shows I. I have tried to switch drives USB leads in the various USB sockets without success. What steps are required to letter drives as previously? or show drive (now L) in the restore selection window. Any help most appreciated.

With your drive connected click on start->type disk management select Create and format Hardisk partitions...

Wait for the drives to populate then you can change drive letter by right clicking on the relevant drive/partition.

NB: If I: is occupied you'll have to move that to an unused letter first.
