    I'd try re-installing:
    1. Click Start, right-click My Computer and select Properties, click the Hardware tab then click the Device Manager button.

    2. In Device Manager, locate the Microsoft Cam device, right-click it and select uninstall.

    3. Exit Device Manager and Reboot.

    4. Now re-install the software by using the Microsoft Cam CD.

No that did not work.... Even went as far as to use Revo uninstaller, then advanced System care caught several items then CCleaner caught a few more items....Went to services tab and checked to make sure service was starting....it was,

Any one have any suggestions..... ????

    I also get a dwwin.exe & dw20.exe error.....
the dw20.exe belongs to MS Office error reporting, I don't use office... had MSworks at one time...would also like to delete this as well, just not disable it....

You should start by posting complete information. Post the exact errors from Event Viewer.

You can double click on any error for more details, and there is also a button to copy the error to your clipboard for easy copying & pasting.

    Event Type: Information
    Event Source: MSCamSvc
    Event Category: None
    Event ID: 0
    Date: 12/27/2011
    Time: 5:02:52 PM
    User: N/A
    Computer: RELIC-02
    Description:
The description for Event ID ( 0 ) in Source ( MSCamSvc ) cannot be found. The local computer may not have the necessary registry information or message DLL files to display messages from a remote computer. You may be able to use the /AUXSOURCE= flag to retrieve this description; see Help and Support for details. The following information is part of the event: Service started.

One of the first things I do on a OS install/Reinstall is disable system restore as its a performance hit...I know you know this.....
I do full backups to a second drive.... Please find above the error message with respect to this post...

That is an informational event log simply stating that it cannot find the description. This is not an error (in the sense of malfunction). In fact it tells you the MSCamSvc service was started.

I was getting the MSCamSvc in the viewer, then thought to check services and changed from manual to auto startup option....So at this point should not be concerned... I would also think I should also get another event saying above service is now started same as other services....

That is exactly what the last two words in the Event log you posted say: Service started. Don't see why you would expect another one saying the same. :)
