    Hello friends,

I wanted to send some sort of holiday greeting to my friends and colleagues, but it is difficult in today's world to know exactly what to say without offending someone. So I met with my lawyer yesterday, and on advice I wish to say the following :

Please accept with no obligation, implied or implicit, my best wishes for an environmentally conscious, socially responsible, low stress, non addictive, gender neutral celebration of the winter solstice holiday practiced with the most enjoyable traditions of religious persuasion or secular practices of your choice with respect for the religious / secular persuasions and / or traditions of others, or their choice not to practice religious or secular traditions at all.

I also wish you a fiscally successful, personally fulfilling and medically uncomplicated recognition of the onset of the generally accepted calendar year 2012, but not without due respect for the calendar of choice of other cultures whose contributions to society have helped make our country great (not to imply that our country is necessarily greater than any other country) and without regard to the race, creed, color, age, physical ability, religious faith or sexual preference of the wisher.

By accepting this greeting, you are accepting these terms :

This greeting is subject to clarification or withdrawal. It is freely transferable with no alteration to the original greeting. It implies no promise by the wisher to actually implement any of the wishes for her / him or others and is void where prohibited by law, and is revocable at the sole discretion of the wisher. The wish is warranted to perform as expected within the usual application of good tidings for a period of one year or until the issuance of a new wish at the sole discretion of the wisher.

    Best Regards (without prejudice)

    Name withheld (Privacy Act).

    Ahh $crew it..

If only one could get all that into a 'seasonal greetings' card :) Wonderful!

Well, I for one am not offended by a good ole MERRY CHRISTMAS and A HAPPY NEW YEAR. And to the other religions and cultures, what they say is also fine with me. I like many others don't bend for the few that want me to bend. The majority still rules in my book.

    +1 MrBill,

Although Arie's post was tongue in cheek there's far too many do gooders out there and I've yet to meet anyone of non Christian persuasion to be offended by anything like your post.

Anyway, I'll stay safe and simply wish

    Goodwill to all

Wildfire. I agree with you 100%. I have no use for those types of people. I wish them no harm, but I don't associate with them for that very reason.

Oh, yea... just to make sure... completely tongue in cheek.

I have my heritage so we do say "MERRY CHRISTMAS and A HAPPY NEW YEAR. "

If someone gets offended by that, it is their problem, not mine.

I'm not offended if someone tells me "Happy Chanukah "... because it doesn't mean anything to me :D

I agree with you. That is what I was talking about in my other post.

I agree, if someone gets offended by a holiday greeting, it's their problem. I'm about as politically correct as a caveman. Obviously, I would not greet an Hasidic Jew with a "Merry Xmas ".

I don't fall for any of the political correctness garbage that the U.S. government tries to push onto its citizens. Its gotten to the point now where you can't even say Merry Christmas in some schools or government buildings because you might "offend" someone. Its freakin ridiculous.

I understand people who say Happy Holidays to each other. As Arie said if someone wished me Happy Chanukah do I get offended? No I don't because I don't celebrate it. Those people who don't celebrate Christmas shouldn't be offended either if someone wishes them a Merry Christmas. Just move on and forget about it if you get offended, thats what I would do.

But the point here is you should be able to speak your mind however you want and not be criticized just because you said Merry Christmas and there is possibilty of someone being offended by that. Give me a break.

If they would run the ACLU out of town on a rail, most of these problems wouldn't be there.

I need to forward the holiday greetings to my lawyer so that he can read & make me understand its meaning.

I would like to live in the times when Merry Christmas & Happy New Year are enough.

Guys, you think you have it tough, here in OZ with Julia Gillard, Obamas best friend, if I would speak out in public some of the comments that some of you have made, I'll be in trouble, I'll be sent to Seminars to learn and accept
    Multiculturalism.
There are many State Primary Schools here in Melbourne where you are not allowed to wish someone a Merry Christmas, as it might offend someone.
I am disgusted with that attitude by Headmasters, as I believe the same as most of you have stated if someone tells me Happy oopy doopla or whatever I smile at them and say happy whatever to you too. Why be offended.
You say to me "Good Morning" I might say " Guten Morgen" (thats German)
We are being hosed by the minorities and down here the far left.

    From Me:

MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR

Christmas Spirits - the Liquid Kind

As the Christmas spirits, the liquid kind, will be flowing over the festivities I thought I would share this with you all...

I would like to share an experience about drinking and driving. As you well know, some of us have been known to have had brushes with the law on our way home from the odd social session over the years. A couple of nights ago, I was out for a few drinks with some friends and had a few too many.

Knowing full well I was over the limit, I did something I've never done before - I took a bus home. I arrived home safely and without incident, which was a real surprise, as I have never driven a bus before and am not even sure where I got it.
