I have been running Vistal 32 bit on an HP laptop for 3 years with absolutely no problems; until now. When connect to my home network (3 other computers; XP and Win7) and I try and access a shared folder, I the system crashes. (BSOD). I have tried this using both a wired and wireless connection and get the same result. I also tried connecting to different computers and the same thing happend. Looking back over an error log, the only thing I see that occurred recently was a "COM SURROGATE STOPPED WORKING" error. I researched this and don't think it has anything to do with my probem. Any ideas would be welcome.

    Thanks,

Yes I tried that. I had a valid restore point about 3 weeks ago but Vista could not restore to it.
