Trying to backup my files but having unknown problem. I have a 518 mb folder that I want to save to a 700 mb cd-rw disk.

I right click on the folder and choose send to E:/ which is my cd drive. It begins the process but is slow. 16 days 3 hours remaining....It used to not be so long.

I open my computer and hover the mouse over the E: drive while disk is in drive and it shows Free space 8.02 mb. Total size 8.02 mb.

Same no matter how many new disks I use. I also don't have the option to format disk anymore.

The cd player works. I can put a music cd in and it will start Windows Media Player and begin playing the disk. No problems here.

I didn't notice the problem until I tried to backup my

The driver is up to date. I already check that out.

I don't know what else to try.

Edit: Just noticed this is wrong thread. Will someone move it please. Sorry.

Windows cd burning program is not working. (Can this be reinstalled?) I checked services and found the IMAPI cd burning service was set to manual and had not been started. I changed this to automatic and started the service. I rebooted and tried to save my files to disk but having same problem.
