It's not a brand, it was custom built for the company I work by a systems supplier.
    Motherboard: Asus P4B
    Intel Pentium 4 CPU 170 GHz 512Mb

    I don't think you're in BIOS.
Some computer will give you boot menu after pressing certain keys combination but it's not BIOS.
In BIOS you'll see "boot order" which will include hard drive and CD drive, both not listed in what you posted.

My search indicates that with that motherboard you should hold down the <Del> key during the boot process to access BIOS.
You'll see a screen similar to this:

    or this:

I did try <del> once, the computer stalled on a grey screen, so I supposed it wasn't the key. But, when tonight at home, I will try again!

the endless story of a guy, trying to clean his system

Ok, first time I was too impatient, now, at the right interval, <del> got me to all the BIOS options. I pushed the cd-rom drive to no.1. the lights of it flashed, both times I rebooted. (as did the 3,5" floppy drive)
to no result, computer booted from operating system as normally.

I tried to acces the cd, to no avail. did that before, but I supposed such a bootable cd would have no FAT, or such a thing, and that it would be normal I cannot read it with my Windows Commander, or the Finder...

:confused:maybe my disk is not ok...?

    Couple of things to try.

First see if you can boot any other computer from that disk.
That way we'll know if the disk is OK.

Then since you made changes in BIOS, when you start computer watch it carefully.
    You should see following message:
Without pressing any key the computer will boot normally not to CD.
