    No problem. I think you are on to something and that maybe something internal is starting to show it's age. Hopefully it will fail sooner rather than later so that I know what to have replaced.

    Meanwhile, I plan to start running the Malware checks on my tower computer which has the exact same Windows sounds issue. Obviously, I'll start a new thread for it. Fortunately, it is not showing any symptoms of other weird stuff like this laptop is. :)
