It's just another way of spamming and sending a virus. It's nothing on your end. I dont think there is anything you can do other than report it to your isp. But they usually wont do much either.

BTW. This probably should be on the IE/OE board.

This just might be a good one to put in the Virus Forum also.

It is possible that the mail is coming from a Virus infected machine and the Virus grabbed a random address that is no longer valid.

I would make sure that you have an up to date AV checking e-mail

And be very careful about any attachments that the mail may contain.

I would also suggest not opening the perview pane. That is all someViruses need to become activated.

I have had a couple on the last few days that MailWasher also said were undeliverable. But MailWasher deletes them off of the server anyway. One of them reported that it could not even find the server.

Wanda--Just to add to the other two replies. There are some viruses, which on someoneelse's PC use the address book on that PC to send out spam messages to others. And these viruses can also use the addresses in that other PC's address book as the sender of those spam messages. So you wind up getting the notices of undeliverable email, even though you were not the real sender.
As aleekat has said there is not much you can do except ask friends, who have your address, if they recognize the address of the undeliverable email. It's a long shot, but the friends should appreciate learning that they have a virus so they can delete it.
