Is there a way to get Windows Explorer to display the preview pane by default? I will be using Windows Explorer primarily for displaying graphics (when I don't want to view the preview pane), and Windows Search (when I do want it). I'm forever clicking on that preview pane, toggling it on and off.

If I could, I'd like to tweak the Registry so that the preview pane is always showing by default. The few times I view graphics I can toggle it off.

Is there a way to do this?

You could use the following to create a .reg file. Copy and paste it into notepad, save as type: All Files and name it Turn_Preview_Pane_On.reg.

    Code:
    Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

    [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Modules\GlobalSettings\Sizer]
     "ReadingPaneSizer "=hex:6e,01,00,00,01,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,0c,03,00,00

Thanks, but I saved it--it is a normal .reg file--and Windows was able to merge it with the registry. But after turning off the preivew pane in my graphics folder, I closed it, and then re-opened it, and the preview pane was turned off. I'd like the preview pane to always be on, even after I have just turned it off.
