A while back I upgraded to Media Player 9. Yes, it is beta, but has worked flawlessly up until now. Now any new file I download that is not a mp3 video file will play but will flash in and out as it plays. Any ideas? Yes, I could use system restore to regain the old version, but I upgraded weeks ago and do not want to lose all the other things I have done since then.

    Hi stpplush
Did you ever find a solution? I just stumbled upon this. Does it help at all?

Yes it has been solved. I first downloaded some fancy codecs from kazza. The player worked without flashing for about an hour, then it returned. I gave up for a while. Then a week ot two back I decided to upgrade my video card. Mine was subpar for unreal 2003. Anyways, problem solved. I don't know why. Maybe my card didn't like 9. However it only played certain file types back flashy. I don't know, but I'm glad it's fixed. Plus now I am running a geforce 4 4600 TI and am loving it!!

    Hi stpplush
Good to hear back from you. Glad you got it all worked out. Funny you should mention graphics cards. I got asked recently about one I'd recommend. (I'd not a flipping clue) How do you like yours?

Unbelievable is all I can say. I had an old TNT2 Nvidia that came with the system. It was fine...or so I thought until I got the Geforce 4. Like nothing I've ever seen before. I would highly reccommend to anyone!!
