messed up keyboard

Hi im trying to help a freind with his keyboard problem, it has started putting random stuff instead of the normal keys like

normal key = messed up


r = /r or 'r
u = opens help
o = tpo
p = po
esc = puts computer in sleep

what could this be? it happens to any computer (win xp and win 7) this keyboard is plugged into. if it helps the keyboard is an older lycosa razer keyboard. Ive tryed checking the lanague on both computers its not that.

Keyboard's dying, you could try cleaning it but chances are a replacement is needed.

It's a gaming keyboard Doc, those are slightly more expensive (A quick google brings up $79.99 for this one).

No worries, if it were a bog standard keyboard I would've recommended binning it without even bothering trying to clean it, however this one does deserve a little attempt to repair.

 

According to some of the reviews I was reading, I'm not sure that would be possible. One poor dude has been through the RMA process four times so far.
