Windows Action Center - Action Center consolidates alerts from key Windows maintenance and security features, including Windows Error Reporting, Windows Defender, and User Account Control. If Windows requires your attention, the Action Center icon appears in the taskbar.

Windows DVD Maker - Windows 7 DVD Maker enables you to create professional-looking video DVDs of your home movies and photos that can be viewed on your DVD players, regardless of geographical region codes.

(Requires Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate editions )

Windows HomeGroup - Easily connect two or more PCs running Windows 7 on your home network to automatically start sharing printers—and your media and document libraries.

You can join a homegroup in any edition of Windows 7, but you can only create one in Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, or Enterprise editions.

Windows Libraries - Make it easier to find, work with, and organize files scattered across your PC or network. A library brings your stuff together in one place—no matter where it's actually stored.

Windows Peek - Lets you peer through all your open windows straight to the Windows 7 desktop.

(Requires Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, or Enterprise edition)

Windows Shake - Ever need to cut through a cluttered desktop and quickly focus on a single window? Just click the top of a pane and give your mouse a shake. Voila! Every open window except that one instantly disappears. Jiggle again—and your windows are back.

(Requires Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, Ultimate, or Enterprise edition)

Windows Snap - Snap is a quick way to resize open windows, simply by dragging them to the edges of your screen. Depending on where you drag a window, you can make it expand vertically, take up the entire screen, or appear side-by-side with another window.

Windows Touch - Windows 7 is the first Windows version to fully embrace multitouch technology. Need to zoom in on something? Place two fingers on the screen of a multitouch-compatible PC and spread them apart. To right‑click a file, touch it with one finger and tap the screen with a second.

(Requires Windows 7 Home Premium, Professional, or Ultimate editions )

Windows XP Mode - The new Windows XP Mode lets you run older Windows XP business software right on your Windows 7 desktop.

Windows XP Mode comes as a separate download and works only with Windows 7 Professional, Ultimate, and Enterprise. It also requires virtualization software such as Windows Virtual PC. Both are available free on the Microsoft website.

I chose the Windows Action Center and Windows Libraries.

With the Action Center I like the fact that Windows 7 has all of the system notifications, security, and troubleshooting options all in one place. It makes trying to detect security and system problems much easier using the Action Center.

Also the Windows Libraries feature is pretty cool and what I like about that feature is that it organizes all of my media files and documents in one place. I'm very organized and to go to different folders to see your documents and music has been a bit of a hassle in the past. With the new Libraries though its much easier for me to see where everything is stored and organized.

I didn't select any of the Aero features because while they are nice to look at and use, they don't really improve my Windows experience. They provide nice eye candy but I don't want or need to use features that slow down my system so I use my computer with Windows Aero turned off.

For 'Other' I voted for Snipping Tool - invaluable to have it built in and not have to use 3rd party software as I did in XP - never used Vista :)

    No none of the above?

Personally, I'm sick fed up of new features added to the OS (though I can see why others are happy) at the expense of memory and processing power.

    Agree with wildfire there.

But I like built in backup/restore function [at last - don't have to rely on 3rd party solution to create an image].

One of the feature I hate most is the new networking through "Homegroup" and the absence of two little computers to show LAN activity.

MS has made it difficult to directly debug networking problems. If the netwroking wizard works great, otherwise its all trial and error.

I have to agree with both wildfire and rsinfo. I suspect you'd get a lot of users choosing "none of the above ", and networking Win7 and XP computers is a real PITA.

I have to agree with the networking problems. Things were so much easier in XP. I'm also not impressed with the compatibility mode. I guess "in theory" it should work, but I don't think it lived up to it's potential. But I digress. As far as the poll, there isn't a feature that makes me go "wow ". I still prefer XP for now.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the new task bar system.

I find that is the standout feature.

The only problem (for me) is having multiple explorer windows open (as MS still haven't managed to come up with a tabbed explorer [I expect people who tend to have multiple word documents open find that similarly painful - why MS decided to have each document appear as a seperate entity on the task bar is a bit of a mystery]). I got round that by writing my own 'Tab bar' that sits at the bottom of my second screen and lists all open explorer windows.
