Today I installed Microsoft Office 2007 on my laptop. For the last few months, I've been using LibreOffice. Office installed fine and works fine, however, my computer kept the LibreOffice file associations (even though it was uninstalled). On top of that, the icons for document files are still showing the LibreOffice icon, even after manually adding the Office associations. How do I fix this? I have no qualms about using regedit, by the way.

    Hi XCalibur54, Welcome to WindowsBBS.:)
I would suggest using something like CCleaner and just Delete any reference you find to your previous software.
Here's a link to Filehippo where CCleaner is a Free download:http://www.filehippo.com/download_ccleaner
I would use this in preference to Regedit at this stage. Cheers Neil.

In Windows 7 you can just type default programs in your Start menu's search box & press [Enter].

Then choose Associate a file type or protocol with a program and locate the extensions currently associated to LibreOffice & change them to their Office counterparts.

All Office file extensions were already associated correctly. Pretty much, this is what's happening:

    What I Want
