I have a batch of about 60 disks that I would like to label rather than just write on them.
I understand that this can be done with a printer that accepts disks.
I do not understand this method so thought I might receive some helpful information from folk who are already doing this.

It would seem that the stick on labelling system is now outdated and the printing directly to the disk is the way to go.

    All assistance appreciated.
    Thanking you

It's a matter of choice Roy. Printable CDs are sometimes hard to find but printable, stick-on labels are plentiful, and may be put on the CD before printing or printed to a supplied layout sheet for attaching afterwards.
I find it best to stick the label on to the disc before printing.

You could also opt for a lightscribe compatible drive and discs, the optical drive itself prints (actually burns is the better word) the label on the disc though you are restricted to monochrome labels.

Most Inkjet, or Bubble jet (Canon) Printers made in the last 10 years are CD print capable. Printers so equipped come with easy instructions.
One thing though is, printing ink is expensive. Yes they can be made to look very professional at the expense of lots of ink.
The other older method of paper labels in my opinion and many experts do not recommend and I do not use or recommend to anyone, as they can be actually dangerous. CD,s spin at very fast speeds inside the drive and the stuck on labels can actually unbalance the CD and consequently explode inside the drive.
My favorite method is Lightscribe, most CD-DVD burners are lightscribe compatible, the disks are slightly more expensive and wont be as colorful as your printed ones, but then again you save on ink and I find it evens out and still looks good, many free Templets are available.
Lightscribeable burners are available from around $30.-.

My sincere advice would be to stay away from the stuck on labels.
If you like them to be colorful go for the Inkjet method.
    Or the simple lightscribe method.

Thankyou each one for your contribution.
My next question is in relation to Disk Printable Printers.......
[A] Is that all they do..print disks ?
Are there any multifunctional printers/scanners that incorporate disk printing ?
[C] As I have a label that I would like copied and printed to disk how easy is that to do?

Sorry for all the questions, but I have no idea.

Normally no, but you can buy dedicated printer for the job. Not worth it unless you're going commercial. IMO.
    Loads, LMGTFY

As long as you still have the image it should be as easy as pie.
